This is where I "park" everything, place websites I want my students to use in their research and link class experiential photo albums and Voice Thread documentaries.
I use this to link my students to video or audio and have them comment on what they hear or watch in relation to what we are studying. There is some really great stuff on Jim Crow, You Tube, PBS, etc....
American History Wiki
I think the wiki is great tool for cooperative learning exercises. I also have the students colaborate on class stories to which I provide the prompt.
I have my student creat on-line documentaries on a particular topic in American History.
Sixth Grade Historical Podcasts
The podcasts contained on this page are created to bring the events and lifestyles of past Americans alive. After conducting research on a variety of topics we create scripts on the class wiki page and then hit the comouter lab to develop the podasts contained on the website.
This wiki site is used to create a portfolio of work for both a fall turtle telemtry project and spring stream studies for an upper school AP Environmental Science course.
This website is for the purpose of assisting my students in their class preparation whether it is for the sake of their personal organization or for the purpose of finding resources. They will also find blogs and wiki links on the teaching websites in order to extend the lesson beyond the classroom.
Keep links to your favorite articles, blogs, music, reviews, recipes, and more, and access them from any computer on the web. Share favorites with friends, family, coworkers, and the del.icio.us community. Discover new things. Everything on del.icio.us is someone's favorite -- they've already done the work of finding it.
REMEMBER: You don't have to use this stuff everyday or every week for that matter, it should improve your pedagogical approach to lessons/units, not replace them.
